Blue Dream Gala - Beau Biden Foudnation
We have made philanthropy to among our top priorities. Since 2011, The Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons has given $650,000+ to charities through the Summer Gala. This year, our Honoree is the Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children. The Beau Biden Foundation was established in June of 2015 to continue Beau Biden’s commitment to protecting the most vulnerable among us, especially children who have fallen victim to abuse and neglect. We believe that no child should be threatened by a predator, and that child abuse can be prevented.

Glow Kids: Book Signing with Dr. Nicholas Kardaras

On August 5th, at 6:00 PM, Dr. Nicholas Kardaras will offer a pre-release book signing and lecture for his new volume, Glow Kids. Dr. Kardaras takes a hard look at the addictive quality of interactive, touch screen technology (i.e. iPads and the like) and expounds upon recent research concerning its effects on brain development and social formation in children. He helps us think through strategies and alternatives as we try to responsibly raise our children in world saturated smartphones and handheld devices. Join us for a reception, talk, and book signing. Parents, grandparents, godparents, aunts, uncles, and anyone who cares for children won’t want to miss this important and engaging discussion. See the attached flyer for further details.
